What We Do

(01)
Student Community Service Events
Open to all students, we organize and fund programs at both middle schools including a fall food drive benefitting the Northfield Township Food Pantry, share-the-love event where students thank their teachers, and spring clean-up event where students collect trash and work to beautify school grounds.

(02)
Student Social Events
Winter Bash has been an after-school party enjoyed by students for the past few years, and we are looking forward to welcoming additional events like a fall basketball shoot-out and spring Crosstown Classic where Springman and Attea face each other in a student-staff volleyball game. These are meant to be fun social events where students can have fun and connect directly after school.

(03)
Staff Appreciation Events
The teachers and staff who support our students are critical to our students' experience in middle school. Throughout the year PTA shows appreciation by sponsoring a welcome back breakfast, conference lunches, winter luncheon, staff appreciation week (in May) and more!

(04)
Staff Grants
Our educators identify many ways to improve our students' experience, and PTA is there to fund these ideas through a grant process that begins in October of each school year. Up to $5,000 is available for each school per year. Recently we have funded new instruments, new science books, springman-attea shirts for incoming 6th graders, new PE equipment, and more!

(05)
Book Fairs + Library Funding
Book Fairs not only promote literacy, they also help earn money for our libraries to purchase new books! Funds also go to support magazine subscriptions for materials used in our middle school classrooms. PTA helps run the book fair by organizing parent volunteers -- if you can help, watch for information in our PTA newsletter!

(06)
8th Grade Graduation Party
PTA organizes a party at each middle school where our graduating 8th graders. Immediately following graduation ceremonies at GBS, students are bussed back to their home school and welcomed to a night of safe fun with food, games, and music. Many 8th grade teachers are there, too, to offer one last goodbye! It's a memorable way for students to spend their last day in middle school.
